While oldies and soul has been popular with outdoor set ups, a lit stage with big LED flood lights, and hay stacks for seats, the event organizers are now looking to host their first indoor event.

In a phone call interview with Mtaa Wangu, Starehe entertainment CEO, Steve Muturi, alias Stido, say they are trying to explore a different set up in their next event.

While some people may see it as paying a fee to go to a club, Stido says the space will be reserved for the Oldies and Soul event that day.

He adds that as they look into their target audience, they are inclining towards their oldies crowd who moves with them from one point to the next. Nonetheless, he notes they cannot wait to meet their new fans also.

Asked how they will go about walk-ins to the club, especially people who chill at Jades Hekima as their home entertainment joint but do not affiliate themselves with Oldies,” he says. “We have at least 10 complimentary tickets for Jades Hekima die hards. This is also a way to introduce a new crowd to Oldies.”

Stido continues to say, “Our Mantra is to always get our Oldies fam to tour new joints in Nakuru. This time, other than a new experience, we are bringing the experience to the crowd affiliated to Jade Hekima.”

According to Stido, for each event, the planning cost may get close to half a million, which encompasses the venue, sound, stage among other additions.

“We will utilize the facility equipment and space for our event. Our budget slash allows us to plan better for our grand one-year anniversary coming up in December, where we plan to invite an act from outside the town,” Stido explains.

Stido further mentions, they will have four sets for the evening with two DJ’s from Nakuru; DJ Reignherd and Owen and two from Nairobi DJ Bunney and Presyce.

Without forgetting, he notes that in this edition they will have a surprise guest for the ladies, hinting at someone special who the ladies will love.

The event will be happening on November 30, with the dress code being blue and white.
