Naxouse meets Oldies and Soul in country music event
Oldies and Soul is a house hold event in Nakuru attracting individuals from all walks of life to enjoy music and live up the experience of oldies music.
However, something unique to its country edition that happened on Saturday June 15, 2024 was the new crowd of fans that turned up.
By virtue of having Sir Elvis as the main act of the night, a pool of middle aged country music fans turned up.
A share of the new audience was also Naxouse fans, a power afrohouse event that gets Nakuru folks and beyond all hyped.
Maybe you know them from the entertainment Phrase ‘Our tribe is cooler than yours’.
Evidently, the two power houses collaborated to make the Oldies and Soul country edition a success.
In an interview with Mtaa Wangu , Oldies and Soul organizer Steve Muturi alias Stidos ,notes that collaborations definitely introduced a new crowd to Oldies and Soul.
“Talks on the two camps collaborating began before Naxouse’s Under the Dome event that happened on June 1. We used our social capital to create awareness of the event and so have they during our event. A collaboration I term impactful,” he reveals.
Stidos notes that Naxouse crowd indeed lit up the Oldies event.
“You cannot do it all alone in the event space. Meaningful collaborations can change the dynamics of your event and the experience you give the fans. We are looking forward to fostering more collaborations in future,” he notes.
Speaking on yesterday’s event, Stidos notes that they noticed the young crowd got a bit laid back to country music songs they were not familiar to, while the old folk were enjoying themselves.
He adds that other than blending the performance with a line-up of Deejays, he will be looking into a particular mode to ensure the diverse interests in music across the audience do not clash.
“We noticed people had varying appreciation for different acts of stage and music. However, we promise to create a format that will ensure everyone’s interest is captured in different editions,” he concludes.
