Just one day after its release, Nakuru-based gospel artist Hush Bk’s visualiser video, "God is in Control," has already begun making waves in the gospel music scene.

The song, written two years ago is a powerful declaration of faith and trust in divine control, something that Hush is excited to finally share with his audience.

In an exclusive interview with Mtaa Wangu, Hush reveals that the song was penned during a period of personal reflection and his journey to having a person relationship with God.

"It feels amazing to finally release this video. It’s been a while since I wrote it, and now it’s finally here to bless those who need to be reminded that, no matter the challenges, God is always in control," says Hush.

The release of "God is in Control" is accompanied by a visually captivating music video that features renowned actor Jemima Canary, who stared in the Netflix film Mpakani

This collaboration is particularly meaningful as Hush Bk and Canary share a long-standing friendship that began when they both started acting at the Nakuru Players Theatre. Their shared artistic journey is evident in the video, further elevating the song's message of hope and faith.

Before this release, Hush Bk had already made a mark in the gospel music world with two solo singles: "Wewe" and "Zaidi".

Both tracks reflect his personal journey of faith, especially after he gave his life to Christ in March of last year.

Hush's music has continued to evolve, and "God is in Control" marks the next step in his musical and spiritual journey.

He is quick to reveal among his solo , Zaidi had also been written a while back.

"I wrote 'Zaidi' in 2023, and at that time, I was still in secular music. I reached out to gospel artist and Mwana Wako hit maker, Timam Evans, asking him to feature on the track. However, he humbly declined, citing my background at the time as an issue," Hush explains.

Reflecting on this moment now, Hush says, "Now, more than ever, I understand why my friend declined my request. There comes a time in life when you need to stand firm in your faith and align your actions with it. I have learned a lot from Timam as a friend, and I’ve always admired his work. Today, I’m grateful for the ministry work I’m able to do through my art."

Looking to the future, Hush shares with Mtaa Wangu that he is working on an upcoming EP that will feature five songs, with his elder sister, Mimah Shafie, contributing as a vocalist on the tracks.
