Naivasha residents are still nursing shock after a man stabbed his wife more than ten times.

The incident that took place at Kasarani estate in North Lake resulted in the death of the wife who was reportedly in her late 20s.

The suspect who is reportedly also in his late 20s is currently admitted at Naivasha sub-county Hospital after he tried to commit suicide using the same knife.

Speaking to Mtaa Wangu, Naivasha OCPD Stephen Kirui confirmed the incident.

"According to statements from the neighbours they were attracted by screams only to find the woman lying in a pool of blood, with the suspect locked up in the bedroom where he tried to harm himself."

Reportedly, the couple's fallout and eventual death of the woman happened after she accused her husband of being involved in an extra-marital affair.

The woman reportedly died on the spot while the man was rescued and admitted nursing serious injuries on his chest and neck.

"The case is very much active. We have taken statements from the couple's children and neighbours. The suspect is currently out of the ICU and in a stable condition. Once he's in a position to, he will take plea and we can then proceed with arraignment," Naivasha OCPD Stephen Kirui closes off.
