An incident has left many in Kolen area in Nakuru West Sub County in shock after a 27-year-old man was left in critical condition after being attacked by an angry mob moments after stabbing his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.

Confirming the incident, Nakuru Town West sub-county police commander Francis Wahome said the woman and her boyfriend sustained stab wounds.

According to the county police commander, the woman had visited her current boyfriend after breaking up with her ex-boyfriend some time ago.

However, when her ex saw her with her new man, he was upset and an argument ensued between the two, during which the man pulled out a knife and stabbed both of them.

The incident attracted the attention of members of the public, who grabbed the man before he could escape and lynched the man who had stabbed the two, luckily police officers came to the man's rescue. The three were rushed to Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital where they are receiving treatment.

"The man who stabbed the two is in a critical condition after being attacked by the angry mob. The two did not sustain serious injuries and we are yet to visit them at the hospital to know the seriousness of the injuries they sustained, at the moment any further information about them is confidential," Mr Wahome said.

"We have started an investigation to find out what really happened before the attack. We are yet to get full information on whether the three are students or what their professions are. We are waiting for them to recover," he added.

A witness who spoke to Mtaa Wangu on condition of anonymity said the man became enraged when he saw the ex-girlfriend with the new catch. He said the man, who was alone at the time of the incident, tried to ask his ex why she had moved on so quickly instead of giving him time to resolve their issues.
