Governor Kihika absent as First Gentleman Mburu hosts Christmas family event alone

The absence of Governor Susan Kihika from Christmas events traditionally attended by her and her husband, First Gentleman Sam Mburu, has sparked speculation among Nakuru residents.

Since her election in 2022, it has become a norm for the governor and her husband to host festive gatherings at their Rongai home, sharing gifts with families and neighbors.

In both 2022 and 2023, the couple shared photos of these celebrations, showcasing their holiday spirit.

This year, however, the scenario was different. Governor Kihika was notably absent, not only from public events throughout December but also from her home during the Christmas festivities.

Her husband carried out the family’s tradition solo, distributing food items to families and hosting the event.

The governor had posted on Facebook earlier, on December 22, sharing images of the preparations.

The post showed the First Gentleman, along with Deputy Governor David Kones and County Secretary Dr. Samuel Mwaura, distributing food items to residents in Mosop and Kiamaina Wards.

However, Governor Kihika was conspicuously missing from the photos.

The deputy governor also addressed residents on behalf of the governor during the event.

Later, the team extended their charity efforts to Ngomongo in Bahati. In all instances, Governor Kihika’s absence was evident, leaving unanswered questions about her whereabouts.

Attempts by county bloggers to assert her presence were met with skepticism, as there was no photographic evidence to back their claims.

Governor Kihika’s absence during such a significant period has fueled speculation, particularly as she has previously disappeared from the public eye for extended periods before making unannounced returns.

Concerns continue to grow as residents ponder the reasons behind her absence during a crucial time of the year.
