As I make my way through Tanners Estate, I can see that business is slowly returning to normal.

A few days ago, where I am standing near Mama Lucky's shop, the situation was different.

All around, you could see the grim faces of some of the residents, some even too scared to make eye contact or speak to anyone asking questions about the terrible incident that will forever be etched in their minds.

But today, the tension that has gripped the locals seems to have eased. For most of this week, the Shabab estate has been on edge after one Florida Khameta, affectionately known as Mama Lucky, was shot at her business premises.

Sadly, she died on arrival at Evans Hospital.

According to Nakuru Town West Sub-County Police Commander Anderson Njagi, they have so far arrested four suspects who are in custody and the matter is under active investigation.

"We arraigned the four in court yesterday (Thursday) and we asked the court to give us more time to carry out investigations and we were given ten days to carry out the investigations," Mr Njagi said.

According to Nyumba Kumi chairman Simbilo John, although things are starting to take shape, the issue of insecurity is still a major challenge.

"The issue of security has been a major thorn in the flesh for us as residents of this area and this incident has put into perspective how bad the situation is," said Simbilo.

"From what I have been told by some of my neighbours, this is not the first time we are hearing of such an incident in this shopping area and there have been other occasions before this tragic incident where the late Florida Khameta lost her life," he said.

When Mtaa Wangu earlier ran an article through its segment titled, Bwana MCA residents of Tanners main concern was the issue of insecurity in the estate.
