As the year 2025 comes to a close Nakuru residents will be spoilt for choices on where to usher the new year from.

For those who will be indoors on New Year’s Eve, inkakubalika anyway. But for the rest who would want to be outdoors it will be up to you to decide where they want to be.

This week, aside from telling you what is happening over the weekend, Mtaa Wangu inakutolea form ya New Year.

For basketball lovers, you can start your day off at the KITI grounds with an exciting end of year tournament. Various teams from Nakuru are expected to be competing, and it promises to be a very exhilarating afternoon of basketball.

If you want to avoid the cheers and tension that comes with competitive sports, a quiet evening at Kivu Resort would suffice. Activities ranging from photography, a movie night, swimming, and of course crowning it all is a firework display once the clock strikes midnight.

Meanwhile, in the city centre, a whole street bash has been set up by Hotel Waterbuck. With the mention of the word bash, you know what you are in for. Of course, before the fireworks display, a curated poolside dining experience will be set up and it will be coming with the whole package: a live band by JK MUSIC, DJ V-era, and MC Indy will be hosting.

Just a few meters away at the Nakuru Athletic Club (NAC) grounds, the GenZ Jesus party will be going down. Hush BK, Faith Nduhiu, Willy Favour are among the artists expected to headline this event.

For those in Milimani who might find it hard to make it to the city center, Kijani Cafe got you covered with their New Year’s Eve Pop UP event.

At Buraha Zenoni, the party will indeed be one for the books. Hart the Band are expected to headline the show, and of course a range of DJs will come through, DJ Tophaz, DJ Pierra Makena, Crème de la Crème, with Terence Creative and MC Togzik as your MCs for the night.
Here at Mtaa Wangu, we wish you a happy and prosperous New Year.
