Playoffs of the Nakuru universities and colleges basketball (Nakuball) league have officially kicked off with all teams ready to battle it out for the coveted win.

In the men's category, the teams will play a best of three series while in the ladies’ categories it will be best of five.

In the men category, Rift Valley National Polytechnic proved why they were indeed the team to beat after punching their ticket to the next round after beating Nakuru Teachers Training College (NTTC) in consecutive matches in a 2-0 win in the series.

Star player Abednego Ndege led his team to victory in last weekend's game with nine points.

During their game at Kabarak Town Campus, the team showed that they did not come to play.

Just like they did during the regular season, last year's runner up dominated the game all through the first and third quarters. However, in the fourth quarter NTTC made a comeback thrashing them 15-2.

Despite their efforts, the Rockets had already sealed their fate making their way through to the next round.

In the ladies’ category, the Moi derby was the match to watch seeing as the game was at Kabarak's home turf. However, the home advantage was not a factor as the Rockets dominated the game beating their Royalties 40-22.

In other matches, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) are one up in their game against Laikipia University. Kabarak Royals also asserted their dominance at the home court taking an early lead in the playoffs.

Samburu Mambas also led in their series against the National Youth Service (NYS).

In the semi-final in the ladies’ category, JKUAT ladies took an early lead.

Let the games continue!
