The weekend is finally here, and for many it promises to be one of the most exciting weekends of the month.
The entertainment calendar is packed with activities both in and outside the city. Leading the excitement is the iconic Safari Rally Kenya taking place in Naivasha, which kicked off on Thursday and will run until Sunday around the breathtaking landscapes of Hell’s Gate and the Great Rift Valley.
The global motorsport event features more than 20 competitive stages over four days, attracting rally fans from across the country and beyond.
Throughout the weekend, the muddy tracks of Naivasha will roar with engines as drivers battle across challenging routes such as Kedong, Loldia, and Sleeping Warrior. The rally will finally wrap up with the dramatic power stage at Hell’s Gate on Sunday afternoon, marking the end of yet another thrilling edition of the world-famous event.
However, for those who may not be heading to Naivasha for the rally action, there is still plenty happening elsewhere. As the sun sets, the party scene comes alive with the “After the Dust Rally Party” at Party Island, promising a full weekend of music and celebration for nightlife lovers.
Meanwhile, culture enthusiasts will have something special to look forward to as the Kikuyu Festival 3.0 takes place at Savanna Park on Saturday, offering a rich blend of culture, music, and heritage.
Elsewhere, the action continues in Lanet where Global Fast will host the Checkmate and Chill Open Chess Tournament on Saturday, bringing together chess enthusiasts for a full day of strategic competition. Fitness lovers are also not left behind, with the Nakuru Walk Movement organizing a challenging 20-kilometre walk to Kabarak on the same day.
For club lovers, the nightlife lineup is equally electric. Space Next Door Nakuru will host DJ Joe Mfalme on Thursday, followed by DJ Brownskin on Friday and DJ Kaytrixx on Saturday. At Wave XO, the energy kicks off with DJ Shinski on Thursday, then DJ Mr T and DJ Nosh on Friday in an event hosted by Ciggie Johnson.
With so much happening this weekend, there is something for everyone whether you prefer rally action, culture, sports, or nightlife. However, as the rains continue in many parts of the region, plan ahead, travel safely, and take care of yourself while enjoying the weekend’s activities.
