Nakuru is heating things up this weekend with a mix of adventure, rhythm and competition. Activities range from the slopes of Mt Longonot to sports at Jacaranda, fun at Kunsten, and great live music at Emboita Hotels.

To kick off the weekend, thrill-seekers will lace up their boots for the Mt Longonot Hike on Saturday, led by Nakuru Adventures to the crater summit of the mountain. Participants can look forward to breathtaking views, a great atmosphere, and fresh mountain air, all for Sh1,600, including transport, park entry, and water.

Meanwhile, back in the city, darts enthusiasts from across East Africa will gather at Jacaranda Sports Bar & Grill for the Kenya Open Darts Championship, which runs from November 7 to 9. The tournament promises intense matches, cheers and trophies, as top players compete for glory in one of the region's most competitive darts showdowns.

As night falls, the music takes over at Emboita Hotels, where the Tamasha Band will be performing live from 8.30pm on November 7. Expect soulful melodies, lively sing-alongs and Nakuru's signature weekend groove that keeps the city moving long after sunset.

The excitement continues on Saturday at Kijani Kafe, where Millennials Day Out invites revellers to 'Toast to the Daylife'. Running from 12pm to 8pm, the event will feature a blend of Afro Fusion, 90s and 2000s throwback hits, as well as live performances by Clarise, Hunta, Shankulu, and Storrytym. Guests will also enjoy games, a BBQ, wine tasting, crafts, and a market fair. Advance tickets cost Sh1,000, while tickets bought at the gate cost Sh1,200.

For those seeking playful outdoor fun, Kunste Grounds will host the Ladies Funday – Grannies Edition, organised by Chic & Cheerful Events. Expect outrageous granny outfits, water slides, bouncy castles, sack races, human knots and a fashion show, all wrapped up in laughter and sisterhood. Tickets range from Sh1,000 to Sh1,500 at the gate.

To end the weekend on a relaxed and empowering note, the Femi Queens Fun Day at Muggzzy Garden on Sunday offers an opportunity to unwind, have fun, and forge connections. Starting at 9 am, the event encourages attendees to bring their energy, smiles, and snacks to share at a communal potluck picnic. The grounds fee is Sh200.

Meanwhile, Nakuru’s nightlife will be buzzing with energy in the entertainment and club spaces, where top DJs and influencers will be taking over local venues to ensure your evening out is absolutely worth it.

So, whether you're hiking, playing, competing or simply enjoying the atmosphere, Nakuru's weekend is set to be lively and unapologetically fun.
