How Nakuru lived up to its "Vegas" title in 2024
Sherehe sheria! is a slogan most of you have been living by for most of the year and what a year it has been for the entertainment scene in Nakuru.
Earlier in the year in February, the Smirnoff "Unleash your Edge Fiesta" event ensured that Nakuru residents started the year on a high note.
Held at the Rift Valley Sports Club, the event featured a host of artists and DJs who gave the revellers a night to remember.
A month later, the World Rally Championships made its way to Naivasha and if previous events are anything to go by, the event did not disappoint.
Making Nakuru and Naivasha the Sherehe districts for the better part of the four days the event was held in Naivasha.
After the WRC event in Nakuru, Oldies and Souls events and Naxhouse events held down the fort for those who choose to go to specific curated events and avoid the clubs, as we discovered earlier this year when we spoke to some Genz who say the late night club scene is not for them.
7D Platinum also marked a decade in the entertainment industry on March 9.
Kriss Darlin, Mc Gogo, DJ Daffy and DJ Kym NickDee were some of the industry heavyweights who graced the four-day event that made the club one of the longest running in Nakuru.
While 7D was celebrating its milestone, trouble was brewing at Groundless Lounge and in the month of May, Groundless Lounge officially bowed out of Nakuru's entertainment scene.
The closure of the club left a bitter taste in the mouths of some of the staff, who had not been paid for three months.
It was also a sad day for revellers who would go to the club on Thursday to watch the strippers since it was the only strip club in Nakuru.
SpaceNextDoor, which burst onto the scene late last year, has proved to be a force to be reckoned with in Nakuru over the past year.
This year's one-year anniversary was proof of that, and as a one-stop-shop for watching live matches, the club has made a name for itself in a short space of time.
The demise of Groundless Lounge earlier this year left a void in the entertainment industry and the opening of Wave XO marked the beginning of a new era and to mark their entry into the entertainment scene they invited US based DJ Shinski to bring the house down on the official opening night of the club.
Now we find ourselves at the end of another year with an ever evolving party scene in Nakuru.
