Party People!! Here's what to expect at the newly opened Wave XO club
It is no doubt that Nakuru's entertainment scene is becoming expansive each year thanks to the new crop of night clubs coming up.
One such new kid is Wave XO, that now sits where Groundless Lounge used to be.
But the space is the only thing the two have in common. For one, the interior renovations done by the new management has completely transformed the space giving it a new chic look.
For those of you (us) who frequented Groundless, you will recall the stripper poles. Well, these have now been replaced with an LED lit dance stage with a two-sided bar underneath it. The dance floor however remains.
Mtaa Wangu also spotted men in black suits with name tags on them, who we learnt were security officers in charge of security at the club.
Speaking to the club’s entertainment manager, Sammy Gito, he notes that the club particularly targets sports lovers, hence the screens strategically placed across the club.
Breaking down the theme nights, Gito notes that, “Mondays are Rhumba nights, Tuesday everything goes, ladies’ nights on Wednesday, Thursdays we get high on Afro fusion, Friday and Saturday aluta nights with guest DJs and entertainers, while Sunday will be a chilled Oldies Sunday.”
We were curious to find out how Wave will navigate the bad reputation of insecurity that Groundless had.
To this, Gito says, “We have reached out to security firms and also engaged police officers who will be making patrols around the club to ensure the safety for those visiting the club.”
Going by social media posts, revelers are warming up to the club, from the Arsenal vs Manchester United match day to yesterday's evening show by US-Based DJ Shinki.
