Nakuru is sliding into the weekend with that unstoppable energy, the kind that makes you want to cancel your sleeping plans, grab your crew, and stay outdoors from Friday till Sunday. The city’s got something for everyone this time, from spooky fun to street feasts and vibed-out car meets. It’s the kind of weekend that defines bila noma, ngoma tu na mbogi yako.

Things kick off Friday evening at Kijani Kafe, where the Shambaland Halloween Party is set to light up the night. The scene? neon lights, wild costumes, and DJs serving energy. Giggx the Entertainer and DJ StoryTyme are on deck, bringing beats that will keep your feet possessed till late. With Halloween games, speed dating, cocktail deals, and free entry, this is the place to be if you’re chasing pure chaotic fun.

If you are the type who prides yourself on knowing random facts, remembering lyrics from the early 2010s, and spotting familiar Kenyan personalities faster than your friends, Merica Hotel’s Quiz Night is calling your name. This Friday, from 7:30pm at the Terrace Lounge, the brain games kick off, free entry, wicked bragging rights on the line, and prizes waiting for the sharpest team.

When the sun rises on Saturday, it’s time to swap your mask for a fork. The Nakuru Street Food Festival at Kunste Grounds promises a full sensory takeover from 10am to 11pm. Think of sizzling sausages, crunchy bhajias, creamy desserts, and that irresistible smell of nyama choma floating through the crowd. The lineup of food vendors reads like a foodie’s dream, ready to serve up flavours that will make you forget your diet.

It’s not just about food; it’s a whole-day celebration with music, games, and prizes to be won. Tickets are Sh500 individually or Sh1,000 for a group of three. Grab your people, come hungry, and let Nakuru’s culinary streets feed both your belly and your vibe.

And for the lovers of engines, exhaust roars, and chill sessions, Little Gardens in Milimani is your Saturday plug. The Park and Chill Hangout, Subaru Edition takes off at 12pm and runs till 8pm, bringing together Nakuru’s car enthusiasts for a relaxed outdoor experience. Subaru owners get a free ticket, but all cars are welcome to join the fun.

By nightfall, the city will be pulsing, DJs taking turns to keep the beats alive, lights flickering off windscreens, and the weekend energy peaking under Nakuru’s starlit sky.

Also on Saturday, the Nakuru Social Club and Kivu Resort are turning their lawns into a dreamy, blanket-and-beanbag paradise for an Outdoor Movie Night under the stars. For Sh950, supper is taken care of, the ambience is sorted, and all you need to do is settle in from 6pm and let the night stretch into dawn with movies, and that perfect outdoorsy serenity.
