On Friday, October 24 those looking to ease into the weekend, the County Government of Nakuru’s health department will host Mental Health Awareness Day at Nyayo Gardens from 8:30 am.
It’s a gentle mix of art and dance therapy, wellness talks, and open conversations around the theme “Securing the Future: A Holistic Approach to Mental Health for Generations.”
It’s the perfect reminder to slow down, breathe, and take care of yourself before the weekend tempo picks up.
As the sun sets, the city’s energy picks up. Over at The Lawns Restaurant, the mood turns vibrant with Sing-Along Night hosted by Kendy Joy Achebi. From 7pm , guests can expect great music, fun participation, with Giggx the Entertainer keeping the beats alive on the decks.
Over at Kijani, Game night will be on. If you are in the mood for something a bit more laid-back, Kijani Kafe is serving a brainy twist with its Game Night: Trivia Edition, which will be running from 6 pm to 10 pm, the free-entry event mixes general knowledge, Kenyan pop culture, and music trivia, plus its happy hour deals to keep things lively.
For the early risers, the Mau Conservation Marathon will be on, on Friday . The 21km run kicks off in Keringet at 7 am, the 10km from Muchorwe at 9 am, and the 5km from Baigam Junction at 10 am.
Under the theme “Linda Mau, Boresha Maisha,” the marathon blends fitness with a message of environmental conservation and running for a cause in Nakuru style.
Later in the evening, the creative community gathers at Baraza Media Lab Nakuru, for the Lust Cargo, a poetry and performance night featuring Nyash, Belvin Thee Poet, Scar Poetry, Timelines, and Nitap. With soft lights, soulful words, and mellow music, it’s the perfect way to wind down the weekend.
And across Nakuru clubs, the list of top DJs is endless, all promising good music to lift the weekend. Fom za Afrobeats to old-school classics, the city’s nightlife is tuned to match every mood.
