Nakuru is experiencing a relatively slow weekend, with only a handful of organized activities drawing residents out of their homes despite the onset of the weekend.

Unlike previous weekends characterized by multiple entertainment, sporting and social events, this weekend's calendar has remained largely quiet, with fitness and sports activities taking center stage.

Among the notable events is the Nakuru Walk Movement's 25-kilometre walk from Nakuru City to Dundori Centre, which will attract fitness enthusiasts seeking to promote healthy living and community interaction.

The early morning Saturday walk will see participants gather at Nyayo Gardens before embarking on the journey to Dundori.

The event will provide an opportunity for residents to engage in physical exercise while enjoying the scenic landscapes along the route. Organizers say the initiative continues to gain popularity among individuals looking to maintain healthy lifestyles and build social connections through outdoor activities.

Meanwhile, sports enthusiasts have their eyes on the ongoing paddle Nakuru League Season Two at Pavilion Sports Club in Milimani.

The tournament, featuring men's and ladies' categories, has attracted local athletes competing for a share of the KSh200,000 prize pool.

The competition has provided one of the few major attractions this weekend, with players and supporters expected to turn up for matches as teams battle for supremacy.

Away from these activities, the city has maintained a relatively calm atmosphere. Many residents appear to be spending the weekend indoors or engaging in personal and family activities rather than attending large public events.

Tiktok star Collo Blue popular for his dances and song Burukanga will also be in town with popular country music artists Sir Elvis.

Top Kenyam Djs are expected to headline entertainment in the city for revelers.

The quiet weekend offers a contrast to the busy schedule that Nakuru has hosted in recent weeks, but for those participating in the available activities, it has still provided an opportunity to stay active, socialize and enjoy the weekend.

As the county continues to position itself as a destination for sports, wellness and recreation, residents hope more community events will be organized in the coming weeks to keep the city's social calendar vibrant and engaging.
