It was like nothing seen before as the streets of Nakuru were transformed into a stage where only the bold and creative showcased their talents.

From tik tok dance moves to musical performances, the city's creative energy culminated in the Nakuru Street Dance, an event that brought together dancers, rappers and models.

Street photographers, much in demand, captured precious moments.

Dancers seized the moment and engaged in exciting dance-offs, each determined to outdo the other. Fans cheered passionately as rappers took to the mic, delivering powerful lyrics to show off their skills.

The energy was infectious, attracting young and old alike, all captivated by the sheer passion and talent on display.

A major highlight of the event was the catwalk showcase, where children and teenagers strutted their stuff in stylish denim outfits.

Led by their instructor, they walked the runway to deafening cheers, leaving the audience in awe of their confidence and poise.

When it came time for individual performances, the excitement only grew - some contestants literally had to be carried off the stage as the crowd's applause refused to die down.

Event organiser Wesley Airo explains that the platform aims to push creatives beyond their comfort zones, while giving them a space to showcase their talent.

"Most creatives perform in front of familiar faces, which may not always provide the honest feedback they need to grow. Here they can challenge themselves by performing in front of strangers," he explains.

Now in its second year, this year's event expanded beyond dance and rap to include models, a category that Airo says is often overlooked.

"We wanted to broaden the scope of creativity and ensure that models are given a platform to shine," he says.

The event also aims to ensure that Nakuru creatives can learn from each other and network.
