Hi Nakuru Folks, Friday evenings are about to be a vibe with Nakuru’s After 5 street Vibes.

Yeah, you heard me right. You will have a chance to get serenaded by various Nakuru stars and meet new acts in the street.

On its debut at Maasai Market on July 5, street dance competitions coloured the evening with poetry adding the cherry on the cake.

With vigour and full of enthusiasm, the dance crews performed head to head, bringing back memories of the once loved Sakata dance show.

The girls in this crew lit the room moving those in the crowd to try one or two moves here and there.

I would say this was a good way to ease the week's pressure with art and music.

Speaking to Mtaa Wangu , Mc Meso notes that the event will be happening every Friday in its pioneer month after which they will scale up to twice in a week on Mondays and Fridays .

“This initiative will feature themed shows and provide opportunities for upcoming artists to showcase their talents. Additionally, renowned creatives from Nakuru will be invited to inspire and mentor the participants. At least seven acts will be featured on each episode,” he says.

Echoing his sentiments, Nakuru city Manager, Gitau Thabanja, notes that this is a great initiative to have Nakuru subscribe to its mandate of being a creative UNESCO city.

Further he mentions that it’s not only the dance crew and poets who will be on board, but any form of art will be showcased.

“I am happy to see that people showed up organically. Most of those here were leaving work and decided to stop and watch the performances. We did not put any direct invites yet we have a good crowd enjoying the set up. Many thanks to Mass concept and Meso events for coming up with something creative for Nakuru residents,” he notes.
