The unmistakable roar of turbocharged engines fills the air in Naivasha as rally enthusiasts flock to the 2025 World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally.
But amidst the thrill of racing, one thing stands out - fashion babes who understood the fashion assignment, and indeed one man is making sure they stay stylish throughout the weekend.
Junior Kabi, a street-smart entrepreneur from Nairobi, has turned the rally weekend into a booming fashion marketplace. Armed with a bag full of trendy outfits, he has become the go-to person for ladies who have come for the adrenaline rush but din't pack enough to wear for the four-day extravaganza.
"At Vasha, I'm a walking wardrobe. People go out of their way to look good for this event and I knew there was a gap to fill. Not everyone comes fully prepared, so I came to sort them out," Kabi tells Mtaa Wangu.
Kabi got the idea from a friend who attended last year's rally and noticed the high demand for stylish outfits. When his friend decided not to attend this year's event, Kabi jumped at the opportunity.

To make sure he was fully equipped, he came prepared with a total of 300 denim and corduroy miniskirts and a good number of stylish bodycon tops.
Positioned at the bustling Kedong spectator zone, Kabi spreads out his collection on display.
The miniskirts, priced between Sh700 and Sh800, are the best sellers.
"Miniskirts are the rage, girls want to look snatched," he laughs. "Ladies want to keep it stylish but light, and I've got just what they need."

But Kabi doesn't stop at Kedong. For the third day of the rally, he'll set up shop in the Soysambu spectator area, ensuring that the fashion game stays strong as the event moves to new locations. And he'll be there for the grand finale at Hell's Gate, ready to outfit the ladies with the perfect outfit for the final lap of the rally.
His vision? To keep the ladies stylish throughout the WRC weekend, one miniskirt at a time.
