Nakuru City centre has continued to grow by attracting new businesses over the past few years.

Among the businesses are supermarket chains Chandarana and Clean shelf, with whispers of Carrefour looking into opening a new branch in Nakuru.

Additionally, restaurants like Art Caffe, KFC, and Origin have also opened shops.

Even with the new entrants, we have also seen the closure of others, like the Chicken Baristo CBD branch opposite Gilanis Supermarket, which closed over a year ago after a water tank collapsed into the food joint.

Though no one was injured as the restaurant hall had no customers at the time of the incident, the business never reopened.

The premise further faced disruption when bees found a home in the building's chimney which led to the untimely death of 93-year-old Joram Njagi Wanyeki.

Now, the location has found a new tenant and a new business is about to launch.

With a freshly painted cream-white exterior and a well-lit interior visible by the lights in the premises, it's clear that a new business is preparing to launch.

However, the windows are covered with brown manila paper, making it hard to discern the nature of the new venture.

According to a confidential source, the new tenant is setting up a home appliances store that will open in this location in two weeks.

"The business is not a branch of a Nakuru based business, but it's an opportunity to tap into the Nakuru market because it is a vast one," the source said.
