The Stage Matt Corner branch, the last remaining outlet within Nakuru CBD, has officially shut its doors, paving the way for a new business to take over the premises.

The building, previously home to the supermarket, a retail cargo clothing shop, and several M-Pesa agents, is now barricaded with iron sheets.

Notices have been placed on the barriers informing customers of the closures and directing them to new locations, complete with contact details for easier access.

While the CBD location has been closed, other Stage Matt branches outside the town centre remain operational.

As of now, it’s unclear what new business will occupy the space, with no visible renovation or activity taking place but Mtaa Wangu will keep you posted.

This closure follows the earlier shutdown of two other branches. One of them, Stage Matt Pekars, was taken over by the popular clothing brand Wa Jose Wholesalers.

More recently, Stage Matt Chapchap was closed and renovated to host Wa Morgan Wholesalers, now known as Wa Morgan Wholesalers Chapchap, and is set to open this month.

The transformation has not gone unnoticed as the once-familiar navy blue walls of Stage Matt have now been painted pink, marking a new chapter for the space.

Other notable businesses that have recently closed shop in the area include Chandarana Foodplus, which operated for four years, Anne’s Café, Chicken Baristo, and Groundless Club.
