A meeting involving Senator Tabitha Karanja, who has declared her bid for the Nakuru gubernatorial seat in the 2027 General Election, has been postponed to a later date next week.
The meeting, which had been scheduled for today, October 16, 2026, was reportedly postponed allowing Karanja time to meet former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) party leader before proceeding with the planned engagement.
Speaking in an interview with Mtaa Wangu, Joseph Kimani, the Nakuru DCP chairperson, indicated that the meeting would be rescheduled for a later date next week.
" Our party leader is currently out of the country leaving the meeting to a later next week when he is back," he noted.
The postponement comes amid growing political activity in Nakuru County as aspirants begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
In an official notice dated October 14, 2026, DCP informed its Nakuru County aspirants and branch officials that a meeting convened by gubernatorial aspirant Tabitha Karanja was unauthorised and would not take place
