Traders at Karimbux stage  have woken up to ugly scenes of destroyed stalls inside the stage.

The stalls were initially on the right hand side of the road coming down from Naivas down town to Kingdom seekers church.

A group of young men are at the scene fencing off the area with iron sheets.

This is despite a visit by the County Trade Executive who had visited the scene on Friday condemning demolitions that had started on that day.

According to the chairman of the stage Simon  Nasieku, after the Friday night incident the two disputed parties held a meeting on Saturday morning at the Central Police Station.

From the meeting, it was agreed the traders would not be evicted from the stalls unless an agreement was reached.

The traders were moved to the stage after being relocated from the streets within town, and had rented or erected stalls on around a half an acre parcel of land whose ownership is in contention.

"From the meeting only 9 of the 49 people agreed to have their stalls  demolished. At around 8 pm people believed to have been paid by the private developer came in and demolished the nine stalls. Later in the night at around 1 am, the group came back, and demolished all the stalls," Mr Nasieku narrates.
