Teacher’s Service Commission defends move to transfer Moi Comprehensive school head teacher
Eng. Mburu Murage, on May12 ,2026 laments over the transfer over Moi Primary Comprehensive School former head teacher Caroline Chebe
The Teachers Service Commission has confirmed transferring Moi Comprehensive School headteacher Caroline Chebbe after she became the target of false accusations.
Nakuru County TSC director, Geoffrey Matasero Chemos, in an interview with Mtaa Wangu dismissed claims that Chebe’s transfer had political influence, rather noting that it is a move to stabilize the school’s operation.
Mr Matesaro revealed that the commission had received numerous complaints against the head teacher that could not be substantiated. This is what prompted the transfer in order to protect the school from the unnecessary negative publicity.
“This is nothing out of the ordinary TSC transfers. There have been complaints that have been made known to us about the school and we looked into the matter and we found Chebbe not culpable. However, a decision to have her transferred was affected,” Chemos explains.
Chemos notes that they will have a consultative meeting as the commission to make a decision concerning the matter. He notes that the new head teacher still remains as the head of the institution but is not running the school as of now.
“There is no vacuum. The deputy head teacher is currently running the school in the acting capacity because of the tension at the school. The new head teacher is not in school currently because of her security,” he notes.
Business was not as usual at Moi Primary Comprehensive School after parents staged demos outside the school over the transfer of the former school principal Caroline Chebe, who is to be replaced by a teacher from Kaptembwo Primary school.
Speaking outside the school the parents noted that they have little faith with the incoming principal and her capability to run the school.
Cecilia Waithaka, a parent at the school expressed her disappointment with this move by TSC further questioning the true intent behind the transfer.
“We are not being notified of the reason for this transfer as parents. We are rejecting the new principal as parents because we want quality in this school to be maintained. We have walked the journey to grow this school, and we would not want to see it derail for any reason, “Cecilia notes.

Another parent, Eng Mburu Murage, suspected a political hand in the transfer of the institution’s head which he vehemently condemned.
“We are parents and we are taxpayers. We are not going to allow our school to be infiltrated by political influence. Our children are months away from seating for their national exams they should have allowed the teacher to finish her cycle of the year then have her transferred,” he notes
Nakuru County Director of Education Victoria Mulili confirmed Ms Chebe officially handed over the school to the new head. Additionally, she assured the public that learning will continue as usual as the matter is being handled.
“TSC has made changes in several schools within Nakuru county, not just Moi Primary. Therefore, we do not expect learning to be interrupted in any way. The teachers are in school and the students are also there. There should be no course of alarm,” Mulili notes.
