Ezekiel Mwangi, the 20-year-old suspect who has been accused of allegedly killing four women, three in Rongai sub-county and one in Nakuru West Sub County was arraigned in court.

Ezekiel denied killing the four women.

The investigating officer, Corporal Vincent Langat, told the court that the accused should be denied bond terms saying that he is a flight risk since he does not have a fixed abode and was on the run since committing the murders.

Further, in the affidavit, Lang’at noted that the events of the incident are in public domain and have attracted emotions, therefore putting the life of the accused in danger.

However, Omwanza Edwin the lawyer of the defence said that he had not received the said affidavit therefore he was not aware of its contents.

In his ruling, Judge Heston Nyaga differed the ruling on bond of the accused and he is to remain in custody until further notice.

“Ideally the defendant’s advocate ought to have been given the affidavit in advance to responding to it. I therefore direct that the affidavit be served before the defence today, if the defence requires to cross examine the investigation officer, he should be availed for that purpose,” he says.

The matter will be mentioned on October 15.

Alice Ayuma, 5-year-old, was the first victim of the alleged killer. She went missing on July 13, while playing with her friends.

She was found lying dead with visible multiple head injuries and signs of sexual assault in a maize plantation near her home at Mwangaza village, in Ol Rongai Location, Rongai Sub-County within Nakuru County.
