A family in Ngambo village in Kapkures Ward is mourning the tragic death of Samson Atambo, a foreman who was found dead at a construction site near Baraka Police Station under unclear circumstances.

‎‎According to the deceased’s brother, Daniel Amenya, Samson had reported to work as usual on the day he died. Amenya explains that Samson had been working as a foreman at a site where a storey building was under construction.

‎‎"For about a week, Samson had developed a routine of arriving at the site early in the morning to relieve the site manager who works at Spin Knit Company in town. Similarly, on Saturday morning, Samson left home early to take over duties at the site, unaware that it would be his final day," he says

‎‎However, events took a tragic turn when welders working at the construction site later discovered Samson lying lifeless.

‎Amenya says the workers became suspicious after finding his body at the site even though nothing appeared to have been stolen.

‎‎Amenya further reveals that Samson had visible injuries at the back of his head and on his face.

‎‎“On Saturday morning he left for work and later we were informed that my brother had been found dead at the site,” he says, noting that the family is struggling to understand what could have led to his death.

‎‎He describes Samson as a soft-spoken man who rarely engaged in conflicts with others. He had worked in the construction sector for many years, beginning his career as a foreman around 1999 to 2000. At the time of his death, he was a husband and father of two children.

‎‎Meanwhile, Rongai OCPD Cecilia Kemboi confirmed the incident and states that investigations are ongoing to establish what transpired and determine the possible motive behind the death.

‎She adds that police are calling on individuals who work at the site to assist with the investigations, noting that the deceased died at his place of work under circumstances that are yet to be explained.

‎‎The postmortem is scheduled for Tuesday.
