The family of 16-year-old Francis Koigi Wakarima, is looking for their son.

Koigi, a form two student at Kirobon Boys High School, was last seen on October 17 in Nakuru town in the company of his cousin, whom he helped board a matatu home to Bahati with the expectation that he’d do the same but to Pipeline.

Speaking over the phone with Mtaa Wangu, Catherine Koigi, his mother, says that was the last he’d heard about him.

“Francis closed school on Friday and was in the company of his cousin, whom he escorted to board a vehicle home, and he remained in town. I was at home waiting for him as is tradition, but when it reached one o’clock and he’d not come home, I called a friend he often accompanies home from school, who said he’d already gotten home and had left my son (Koigi) with his cousin,” she says.

Catherine says she then asked which cousin, to which she was referred to Shanice, who studies at Maria Veronica.

“We got a call from his school that he’d borrowed money from several students and was in debt, which we cleared. I don’t know if he was afraid of the impending trouble he might get when he comes home, but as parents, we have no issue with that and want him back home,” she says worriedly.

Koigi was last seen in his full school uniform, a blue shirt, red tie, navy blue sweater, and trousers.

They have since reported the matter to Central and Kaptembwa Police Stations in Nakuru Town East and West, and have been notified to engage the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for further guidance.

If you have seen him or have any information, please call these numbers 0703785194 or 0780828288 or report to the nearest police station
