Nakuru woman reveals why she vomited a rat
A few months ago, the name Vick Chepkori did not ring a bell for some Nakuru residents, but a few days ago, Chepkori who hails in Ndirangu Village in Njoro, became an online sensation after she made headlines for vomiting a rat.
The 24-year-old mother of four, tells Mtaa wangu what exactly happened that day.
"I had been unwell for a week with severe head and stomach pains, forcing me to take painkillers regularly to ease the pain," Chepkori says.
She explains that on the fateful day, she had finished her daily work when she came home and was still feeling unwell.
Chepkori continued to vomit for a week. The illness made her want to drink only tea, as she was afraid to eat solid food.
On that one fateful day, she took her painkillers as usual and went to sleep.
"I vomited three times that night and the fourth time I felt something like an object in my throat. I stuck two fingers down my throat and forced myself to vomit, which I did," Chepkori said.
She then asked her children to turn on the light so she could see.
To her disbelief, she then asked for a stick to confirm if what she saw was a real dead rat in her vomit.
Chepkori links her incident to black magic as she explains that she had a disagreement with the neighbour before she started having complications.
She says her neighbour told her she would never know peace after her donkey destroyed her green pea farm.
Chepkori suspects the woman is behind the strange occurrence.
According to one of the elders, Peter Kiruish, 25 elders have to meet to perform a ritual to cleanse the victim. The rat was burnt while prayers were done.
