Nakuru creatives will on Sunday hold a vigil at the Nakuru Players Theatre to celebrate the life of TikToker and social media influencer Brian Chira who died after being involved in a hit and run accident.

Tik Toker Elvis Mushila, who is among the creatives in Nakuru organising the vigil, says they are doing so that fellow creatives and Chira's fans get a chance to honour his memory.

"We are expecting about 40 creatives from Nakuru to join us for the candle lighting on Sunday to celebrate Chira's life. In one way or another, Chira helped shape the creative space in Nakuru. He worked with many content creators from here and helped them gain visibility in the online space," says Mushila.

Simor Music, who is part of the management of Nakuru Players Theatre, welcomed the move, saying it was a good way to honour the late Brian.

"We want creatives to feel that the theatre is their home. Chira was a creative and it is most fitting that people do the candle lighting here. Other than that, we are exploring the possibility of having tribute performances to capture his best moments," says Simor Music.

He also notes that both Chira's fans and content creators will have an open mic session to present content they have created together.

Kevokevo, a content creator from Kabarak University, says that he felt Chira's friends had not mourned him well, but the vigil would be a perfect opportunity for us to honour his memory.

"As creatives from Nakuru, we will support the family as much as we can. But first we will honour our fallen colleague in the theatre," says Kevokevo.
