They marched to the County assembly where they presented their grievances in form of a petition.

In the petition the group want the County Executive member in charge of the docket Elga Riaga summoned to account on the usage of funds allocated to the docket for the last two years.

“We seek a full report of the resources allocated to the department of culture between 2023 and 2025 and how these resources were utilized towards the creative sector,” read part of the petition.

Additionally, they want an explanation as to why the department does not have a culture director since the departure of the previous director in 2022.

“Nakuru being a creative city we want the city manager and finance planning committee what they have done so far given the designation comes with obligations,” read the petition in part.

“The creative industry should be treated fairly and be taken with the seriousness it deserves, Nakuru has a lot of talent that should be natured to its fullest,” he says.
