Barely weeks after Mtaa Wangu raised concerns over the inaccuracy of the information on the official website relating to the profiles of senior officials, Nakuru county government has moved to quietly effect corrections on the platform.

The website contained copy-pasted information relating to the biographies on the executive members which raised questions of accountability and transparency.

In the story published on December 23, 2025, which highlighted inconsistencies on the website where multiple senior officials were listed as holding identical academic qualifications, including a Master of Political Science from foreign institutions, despite their public, well-documented, and varied professional backgrounds.

In the updated website made the county has removed the bios, education history, and professional credentials of the members and replaced them with a pared-down presentation of names, designations, and official contacts.

In their place, the county has introduced short tags under some officials’ names, briefly outlining their exact leadership experience, and while a few members of the executive now have experience summaries, others have had their profiles reduced to only a name, designation, and official email address.

As a result, the platform is more aesthetically pleasing but provides less detailed information about the people in charge of managing county affairs.

The county government ha however, not released any official statement addressing the errors that were previously brought to light.

The decision to withdraw detailed profiles without replacing them with accurate, individualized information limits the website’s usefulness as a transparency tool and leaves gaps where clarity is expected.

While the updated platform reduces the risk of publishing false information, it also reflects a cautious retreat from disclosure rather than an effort to improve accuracy.
