Nakuru County Assemply deputy speaker Ngware Ng'ang'a impeached

Molo MCA, Ngware Ng'ang'a is the deputy speaker at Nakuru county assembly.
Anthony Kamau has been elected as the new deputy speaker of the Nakuru County Assembly. This follows the impeachment of Molo MCA Ngware Ng'ang'a on Thursday evening.
For the past two weeks, speculations have been making the rounds on social media regarding an alleged plot to impeach Mr Ngware. Mr Ngware confirmed to Mtaa Wangu that the rumours were indeed true.
He also shed light on why some members of the County Assembly were out to oust him, citing a funeral where he had voiced his opinions on the 2025 Finance Bill.
“During the funeral I took the opportunity to pass on my condolences to the family of my area MP Kuria Kimani. Additionally, before the speech, I had engaged with some of the locals who told me that once I take the stage I should address the recommended taxes in this year’s Finance Bill seeing as the Mp is also the Chairperson of the Finance and National Planning Committee. I did so in a very respectable manner,” Mr Ngware said.
According to Mr Ngware his remarks did not sit well with some of the national leaders who were in attendance at the burial.
He was later served with a show cause notice (a formal document issued by an employer or authority to an employee or subordinate asking them to explain or justify their behaviour or performance).
The impeachment took place at the County Assembly behind closed doors, with the session lasted over two hours. The impeachment of the Molo legislator was confirmed at around 7pm.

Anthony Kamau has been elected as the new Nakuru County Assembly deputy speaker.
