Molo detectives granted 14 days in case where minor was defiled and new born poisoned

Case where a newborn was allegedly poisoned is being heard in Molo court.
Detectives in Molo have 14 days to complete investigations into the alleged murder of a new-born baby suspected to have been poisoned.
This directive was given by a Molo court on April 3rd.
On April 16, the main suspect in the murder, a Ms Jeniffer Makomore was arraigned.
Ms Makomore who pleaded not guilty is being held at Nakuru GK prison awaiting April 24, when the court will give further directions.
She is believed to have conspired with a church elder Paul Macharia to murder the child, who was proof of defilement.
Mr Macharia is said to have defiled a 17-year-old under the guise of helping her get funding for school.
A post-mortem conducted by Government Pathologist Dr. Titus Ngulungu showed that the day old baby died as a result of poisoning.
“We found chemicals used to make pesticides in the baby’s stomach, which are easily identified by the distinctive smell. However, some samples have been sent to the government to get a confirmation on the same,” Dr. Ngulungu says.
“Additionally, we have taken DNA samples from the baby to be able to conduct a paternity test with the second suspect once he is apprehended,” he notes.
The report confirms a statement from the minor who noted that there was a foul smell coming from the child at the time the inhumane incident occurred.
Mr Macharia, is still at large and being sought by authorities.
