The grandson of former President the late Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi is appealing to Kenyans for help in raising Sh 2.5 million that is required for a medical procedure.

Milka Faith Moi, the mother to Gift Moi told Mtaa Wangu that her son was unwell in 2021. It was then that he was diagnosed with a cyst on the left upper jaw.

According to the late Jonathan Toroitich Moi’s widow, the son's procedure was scheduled for January 4th this year, but due to financial reasons, they have been unable to go forward with it. This has led the surgery to be pushed to 15th of February.

"Indeed I must say I have had sleepless and stressful nights as I always wonder where exactly the help for my son will come from," she said.

Milka however remains optimistic that they will be able to raise the money needed for the treatment of her son.

"Mzee Moi was a kind and generous person and he managed to help many of those who were in need. He also mentored many more. I would like to urge those friends of goodwill to find it in their hearts and come through for his grandson," she said.

She however laments that the continuous court battle over the inheritance of the Late President Daniel Moi, has presented a huge obstacle in her pursuit to get treatment for the son.

"The matter of his treatment was raised way back but on that front we are yet to get any feedback. The family also has been informed but nothing has come through; nothing at all," she says.

She concludes by saying that she has faith in God and believes that God will make it possible for her son to get the treatment he deserves.
