Minor attacked by man she met on Facebook
A 16-year-old girl from Kuresoi North recently had a brush with the jaws of death after she fell into the catfishing trap leaving her seriously injured.
Like many teenagers who are unaware of the dangers of meeting strangers lurking behind a social media user name or avatar, the minor innocently heeded to a strangers request to meet up.
The minor met the man on Facebook after a friend of hers shared a photo of them together.
The man 'liked what he saw' and messaged her after which they planned to meet up, with both agreeing to meet during a public holiday.
On the D-day, the man picked her up as agreed and the pair headed to his house where the man pulled out a knife and used it to not only intimidate her but also shave her head.
Luckily, neighbors managed to rescue her before further harm was done, after they heard her screaming and begging for her life.
She was then rushed to a local dispensary to quickly patch up the serious wounds she was left with on her head, before being transferred to Molo sub-county hospital.
While speaking to Mtaa Wangu, Kuresoi North's OCPD, Judah Gathenge shares that since the incident, local police worked hard to catch the culprit who is currently in remand awaiting arraignment.
