The lifeless body of a man was found in an open field in Olenguruone Centre on Tuesday morning with his private parts mutilated.

The man, identified as Morrissey Suter who was in his late 30s, is believed to have been murdered by unknown assailants who are still at large.

Kuresoi South Sub-County OCPD Jeremiah Leariwala says the matter was brought to their attention by the residents who found Morrissey's body in an open field.

On arrival at the scene, officers found the deceased with multiple injuries and mutilated private parts.

"We have people who have been called in for questioning to help with the investigation and one person has been arrested though the motive of the murder is yet to be known," he says

Mr. Leariwala says Suter was a famous sim card seller and his body was taken to Oleguruone Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

This incident comes two weeks after Ezekiel Mwangi, a 19-year-old, was arrested in Rongai after confessing to killing four people in a series of murders that began in July.

Mwangi confessed to having killed five-year-old Alice Ayuma as well as a cooperative bank manager, Ms. Mueni Mwalimu, three weeks later and mutilating her body.

The man also claimed to have killed another woman, Ms Moraa Mukami, two days later. The fourth victim was also a woman who he found praying at the Menengai crater praying caves.
