Man, 57, dies at Milimani hotel in company of 21-year-old woman

Police in Nakuru are investigating the death of a 57-year-old man reported to have passed on while lodging at Graceland Hotel in Milimani Estate.

According to a police report OB No.09/24/10/2023 the matter was reported by a receptionist at Graceland Hotel at around 5 pm on October 24, 2023.

She reported that a lady namely Joy Moragwa, 21, had checked into the said hotel at around 1.10 pm in company of Geoffrey Njoroge Maina, 57.

According to the report, the receptionist was approached by Joy, who reported that the man, now deceased, was having difficulty in breathing, prompting her to seek help from the police.

Officers from Kaptembwa Police station got to the scene and found the body lying on the bed with no visible physical injuries.

Confirming the incident to Mtaa Wangu, Nakuru West DCI Boss Mr. Charles Kamau says they are still waiting for the postmortem results to understand the circumstances under which the man died.

“The lady is not in police custody since the cause of death is yet to be identified,” he said.

On reaching out to Graceland Hotel, for a comment, the hotel refused to comment on the matter referring Mtaa Wangu to the police for more information regarding the case.

The body was moved to Nakuru County Municipal Morgue, awaiting postmortem.
