Human rights activist James Wakibia, has expressed his frustration and dissatisfaction with the long queue at Nakuru’s Huduma Centre.

In his tweet published alongside a video, Wakibia said, “This doesn’t look like huduma! Long snail moving queues show there’s a problem somewhere!”

In the video posted on Thursday January 4, 2024, the people seem exhausted and frustrated with some of them leaning on the walls and electricity poles next to them.

Some of them seemed to have waited for hours to access various public services such as applying for identification cards, passports, birth certificates and driving licenses.

Despite sharing the video, the tweet failed to garner the attention it deserved from other  twitter users, as it only received two retweets and one like.

Wakibia tagged the official account of huduma Kenya @Hudumakenya, hoping for them to intervene and address the issue.

The management of Huduma Kenya centre in Nakuru as well had not responded to the Wakibia by the time of publishing this story.

This is not an isolated case since as early as 8am,on weekdays, a long queue forms outside Nakuru’s Huduma centre with the people eagerly waiting to be served. The line usually stays just as long even as the day moves to lunch hour between 1pm and 2pm.

This is one of the many challenges faced by citizens in accessing essential services and underscores the importance of addressing inefficiencies in government service centres.
