Loud screams and a sombre mood welcome you to the home of Gladwell Wambui Chege.

Wambui is mourning the death of her son Neville Michael who is suspected to have been murdered by her husband, who was also found dead.

She tells Mtaa Wangu that she got into an argument with her husband Dennis Michael on July 19.

Although she did not reveal the details of the argument, she says it was so bad that she went to her mother’s house in hopes that things would cool down.

“We spent the weekend there in Manyani and on Monday Neville’s uncle took him to school. At around 4pm I realized he was not yet back. I called the boda boda rider who usually brings him and he told me Michael had said he had taken the child and so he shouldn’t bother going to get him,” Wambui narrates.

Confused, Wambui says she called her husband but he was not picking. She then went to his work place but he was not there.

“I was on night shift at the hotel I work in so I decided to go to work and pursue the matter the following morning,” she continues.

The next morning, upon arriving in their matrimonial home, Wambui found the door locked from the inside and she managed to open it.

“When I opened the door, there was a strong pungent smell like pesticide in the house. I went to my son’s room and there he was lying on the bed so peacefully. When I got close to him I noticed his hands and feet were tied and there was white foam on his nose and mouth,” Wambui breaks down unable to continue with the interview.

The lifeless body of her husband was found hanging from the bathroom ceiling.

Witnesses told Mtaa Wangu that a suicide note believed to have been written by Michael sighted that he had done the heinous act because she was cheating on him.

"The note was written in an exercise bool and it said he had left so that she can continue with her lovers," the witness recounted.

Samuel Ngeiywa, Nakuru East Sub-County Criminal Investigation Officer says they are waiting for the pathologist report before ruling the man's death as a suicide.

"We cannot conclusively say what transpired until the postmortem is done on both bodies," Mr Ngeiywa notes.

The bodies were taken to Nakuru county  (Kwa Jack) mortuary.
