At around midnight today, Elias Mutugi Njeru the man suspected to have stabbed Florence Wanjiku, surrendered himself to the Nakuru Central Police station.

This was confirmed by Nakuru County Commander Michael Mwangi through a phone call interview with Mtaa wangu.

" The suspect availed himself in the presence of his lawyer. He is still in our custody here at the Nakuru Central Police station awaiting to be moved to the Menengai police station" he says.

The suspect is accused of committing the heinous act on Thursday night.

In a press briefing at Nakuru central police station, Njeru’s advocate Gakuhi Chege notes that the client is willing to cooperate with the investigative authorities until a logical conclusion of the matter is reached.

"We are confident (that) in the fullness of time, the truth and the circumstances surrounding this incident will ultimately vindicate our client from the assumptions and allegations surrounding the events of November 21," reads part of the statement.
