All routes converge at State House Nakuru today for the climax of this year’s National Drama and film Festival with President Dr. William Ruto expected to grace the occasion.

It goes without saying that traffic between Free Area and the city centre, along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway will be heavy.

For those looking to avoid the congestion and arrive at your destination within a reasonable time, it’s advisable to bypass the main highway.

For those traveling from Section 58 and Naka, the best option is to completely avoid the main highway and instead take Oginga Odinga Avenue. This route will lead you to the roundabout near Chillis/Naivas down town, from where you can navigate through town.

If you’re coming from White House, Bismark, or Mawanga, travel through Milimani, then take the road that passes near Nakuru Level 5 Hospital. This will bring you to the KFA roundabout, from where you can find your way through town. This route is preferable as it will help you avoid the heavy traffic near the roundabout by the Shell Petrol Station.

For those using the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway, it’s best to bypass the KFA roundabout. Travellers coming from Ngata, Rongai, Bangladesh, and surrounding areas should avoid the main highway after the Total roundabout. Just beyond the Total roundabout, there is a road leading to Westside Mall, Water Buck hotel, and Valley Hospital—take this route to navigate through town.

The Pinkam roundabout, which tends to experience frequent traffic jams, is expected to be particularly congested.

If possible, try to use the Chillis/Naivas roundabout or even the KFA roundabout as alternatives to avoid the bottleneck.

While the suggested routes may be slightly longer, they are undoubtedly preferable to being stuck in traffic.

Happy Wednesday!
