"My daughter died a painful death,” laments Eunice Mideva the mother to Vivian Kajaya.

Vivian was a Mount Kenya University student who was found dead and body dumped in a maize plantation within Kiamunyi estate, Nakuru County on October 14.

For the last 10 days the circumstances that led to the death of the student who was pursuing Bachelor of social work and Administration at MKU in Thika were unclear.

Speaking after witnessing her daughter's post-mortem at the Nakuru City Mortuary on October 24, Ms Mideva says that the pathologist informed her that the assailants strangled her, while her nose and mouth was covered.

Ms. Mideva says that according to Government Pathologist Dr. Titus Ngulungu, her daughter was also sexually assaulted.

“They also took some samples which will be taken to the government chemist for further tests," she says.

The funeral will take place on October 31 in Vihiga County.

“She is supposed to be transported to western for burial but I do not have money to cater for all the expense. The money for post mortem was a donation from neighbour and friends. I plead with any Kenyan of good will to help me," she pleads.
