A distraught family from Nakuru West is searching for their 16-year-old daughter Yvonne Kwamboka, who went missing on Monday morning while on her way to her school, Nakuru West secondary school.

According to her mother Esther Kerubo, Yvonne woke up at 6 am to get ready for school from her home at Checkpoint.

"She woke me up some minutes after 6 am to lead us in prayer before she prepared for school. By then, her grandmother had already left for the market," Ms Kerubo narrates.

Shortly after, Yvonne left for school and Ms Kerubo went back to carrying out some house chores.

While speaking to Mtaa Wangu, Ms Kerubo shares that she’s a farmer based in Kisii and was in town to visit her daughter who lives with the grandmother. She also wanted to speak to Yvonne's teachers about her medical condition.

"My daughter suffers from a condition where she constantly passes out and stays unconscious for a few minutes or at times hours."

"At 3 pm that fateful Monday, the teacher called worried that Yvonne was missing since she hadn't been seen in school by neither students nor teachers."

Patiently, she waited for her daughter to return home at her usual time, 6.30 pm.

"I waited and when it reached 7 pm, Yvonne hadn't come home yet. It was then that I knew something was wrong."

According to Ms Kerubo, she began asking her neighbours and people around if they had seen her daughter.

She even searched neighbouring hospitals all in vain before she decided to report her daughter missing.

"On Wednesday, I paid the police station and the chief’s office a visit to report my daughter missing and to attach a photo of her to the missing report. I am yet to find my daughter," she shares sorrowfully.

Yvonne's family have reported her missing at Kaptembwo police station where her mother recorded a statement.

Anyone with information about Yvonne's whereabouts is being asked to come forward and share with the police.
