Kabras RFC are this year's Enterprise Cup Winners after defeating the Menengai Oilers RFC 33-12 at the ASK Showground. It was the fifth time winning this cup.

Kabras started strongly, pinning Oilers in their half, Ntabeni Dukisa’s high balls troubled the host's backline. Although they created a good chance early on, but Griffin Chao failed to catch a pass from Dukisa.

Kabras suffered an early blow when Jeanson Misoga injured his leg, and Collins Indeche came on to replace him.

In the 23rd minute, Dukisa scored a penalty after repeated errors by the Oilers. They continued to pressure, and Hillary Odhiambo broke through the defense and passed to Walter Okoth, who grounded a try.

Dukisa successfully converted, extending the lead to 10-0. Alfred Orege added the score after cutting inside and scoring in the corner. However, Dukisa missed the conversion, leaving the score at 15-0 during half-time.

After the halftime Kabras won an early penalty, which Dukisa slotted in skilfully, stretching the lead to 18-0.

Oilers responded immediately, cutting the deficit to 18-7 through a try by Beldad Ogeta and a conversion by Timothy Omela.

The try made Oilers pile the pressure and continue to attack, but a mistake made Griffin Chao steal the ball and score another try, sailing them comfortably ahead to 30-7.

Oilers scored another try through Samuel Ovwamu but missed the conversion, making it 30-12. In the final minutes, Kabras showed their resilience when they got another penalty, making it 33-12 when the final whistle was blown.

Oilers RFC head coach Gibson Weru notes that they lost to a better team noting the attitude in the game was off, as the team didn't concentrate and react faster to chances created.

"From this, we are going to sit down and evaluate and strategize on how to move forward," he says

He adds that they are hopeful in the coming season having reached the final of all the tournaments noting the trophies will come.

Kabras Sugar RFC captain George Nyambua attributes the victory to hard work and executing their game plan.

"Winning trophies is always our target at Kabras Sugar. Today we were determined to collect as many points as possible early in the first half and then manage the game by piling pressure on the opponents, and it worked," Nyambua says.
