After an action-packed game, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) emerged victorious with a final score of 67-61 over Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology (RVIST) in the final of the Nakuru Universities and Colleges League 2023 held at the RVIST basketball court.

Even as the teams warmed up, you could feel the excitement that the fans had brought to the game, and although RVIST had the advantage of playing the final on their home court, JKUAT also brought their fans who helped to level the playing field.

As soon as the jump ball was in the air, it was clear that both sides were out to win, as this was a do or die affair for both teams who had fought tooth and nail to get to this point in the competition.

JKUAT University controlled the tempo of the game from the outset, executing their game plan and breaking down the opposition's defence on more than one occasion, sending their opponents into a frenzy.

After a short time out called by the RVIST team, the RVIST team found their footing and the game was on.

The majority of the game was evenly balanced, with each team trading baskets, but the final quarter was where the boys really came into their own, as JKUAT worked hard to control the tempo of the game. A three pointer from Klinsman Orina in the final seconds was the nail in the coffin for the RVIST players.

In the women's category, the RVIST women did not disappoint their fans as they managed to win a low-scoring game against their rivals Egerton with a final score of 18-11.
