If you are in Nakuru and talking about restaurants that have stood time and are still running strong you cannot miss mentioning Rift Fries restaurant.

Located at the heart of Nakuru along club lane, Rift Fries has been operating in the city center for more than 16 years now. Many restaurants have opened and closed down but this particular one has stood the test of time.

As I visited the hotel I met Eric Mokau the longest serving waiter at the restaurant and now a supervisor. Dresses in a red branded Rift Fries polo shirt and black trousers Mokau was busy serving clients at the hotel.

Having mastered his art, he balances a tray of beef Pilau and a glass of passion juice on one hand and oriental Bhajia on the other dropping the meals to different client's .

"Normally some of our meals are prepared on a orders. When a client comes in, i get to take his or her order and put it through with the chefs to have the meal served if it's read or have it prepared if it was not ready," said Mokau

Mokau adds that he has been working here for 10 years now and the experience has been amazing. Seeing the client satisfied with a meal prepared is what keeps us maintain the high end services we offer.

He however notes that there day clients have turned downed an order and he had to consulted the chefs to either have the meal prepared again or have a different meal served for the client. Noting that all this is done to ensure client's satisfaction.

While getting a tour at the hotel I couldn't miss a client having her meal from their open rooftop who seemed to enjoy the Jazz music playing at the hotel.

Ms Ann Muthoni says the music adds a charm of the hotel noting that the  music is refreshing and keeps your mind refreshed and rejuvenates your soul as you enjoy your meal.

The Restaurant Manager, Emmy Wangari notes that the restaurant started in a single unit room and a kitchen and has expanded to one flow and an open rooftop restaurant.

"The hotel management did the rooftop renovation during Covid times to allow clients observe the social distance measures as advised by the government at the time. This was a blessing in disguise as our clients can now have rooftop experiences as they enjoy their meal," said Wangari.

Ms .Wangari notes that the hotel is best known for known for their special fries, kebabs and African cuisine dishes.

" We provide ample seating space for clients with a competent team ready to serve the client. Our aim is to provide high quality food that is always fresh and meets our clients demands in terms of taste while still remaining pocket friendly," she said

If you are looking forward to enjoying  quality African cuisines at it's best at great prices you could visit Rift Fries .You could also try their wood-fried pizza which is highly rated in the town.
