At the age of 32, with the weight of unfinished dreams bearing down on him, Stephen Okeyo, popularly known as Rhonda Bwoy Kigogo made a bold and life-altering decision to go back to high school more than a decade after he dropped out.

Donned in school uniform and with a backpack slung over his shoulders, he makes his way to Ronaka House School to revise and prepare for his KCSE papers as a way to inch closer to achieving his dream of bagging a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology.

While speaking to Mtaa Wangu, he shares that having grown up in Rhonda which he describes as a 'rough and insecure' place, he plans on pursuing criminology to help make Rhonda safer for other people who call it home.

"I came from a financially disadvantaged family, and with time, I had to drop out of high school way before I could take my KCSE. After dropping out, I had to take on odd jobs but luckily stumbled into the world of music."

Stephen was introduced to the world of music through a friend of his cousin who happened to own a recording studio at the time.

Since then, he fell in love with music and has been recording songs with his biggest hit being Kigogo, which earned a lot of plays on local airwaves.

When asked what going back to school means for his music career he shares, "School doesn't mean the end of my music career but rather, is an additional way for me to make a difference in my community. In fact, my fans should look out for two exciting music videos that I'll be shooting before the end of the year."

As he speaks on his music career, he additionally shares that his biggest inspiration in his journey has been Harmonize and Khaligraph Jones who he hopes to collaborate with one of these fine days.

The artist who is hoping for a mean grade of B+ closes off the interview by sharing, "It's never too late to chase your dreams as long as you're focused and determined."

From Mtaa Wangu to Rhonda Bwoy and other candidates all over Nakuru County, we wish you the very best of luck!
