Nakuru siblings chart own path as Gospel dancers

For Joshua and Jedidiah Macharia, dance is more than just a fun pastime—it's a calling. The brothers have turned their passion for movement into a ministry, using dance to reach and inspire young people.
Their journey began when they were just 11 and 8 years old, respectively, after joining 'The Revolutioners', a dance group led by their older brother.
“We grew up surrounded by dance. Two of our eldest siblings were dancers, so we were constantly dancing at home,” Jedidiah recalls. “Eventually, we decided to join the group and take it more seriously.”
Training with 'The Revolutioners' gave them hands-on experience and exposure to live performances. Despite their young age, their parents ensured they remained grounded and focused on their education.
In 2019, the brothers decided it was time to forge their own path and launched their brand, 'Jeddy and Josh', after other group members moved on to different opportunities.
“We were the youngest in the group,” Joshua explains. “When the others started pursuing different paths, we chose to carry on the legacy and start something of our own. They've still been supportive along the way.”
Jeddy and Josh specialize in gospel hip-hop and are committed to using their talent to draw more young people to Christ. They've stayed true to their mission, only performing at gospel events and projects.
“We’ve been offered gigs that don’t align with our values,” Jedidiah says. “We once turned down a Sh. 20,000 offer from a secular artist who wanted us to appear in a music video. It was tempting, but we knew it wasn’t right for us.”
Their dedication has seen them take part in major events like Pamoja Peace Concert (2017), Groove Party (2016), and Safaricom Live (2011).
“It’s amazing to share such a unique journey together,” Jedidiah says. “Not many people get to do this with their sibling. We’re truly grateful.”
Currently, Jedidiah is studying IT, while Joshua has graduated in Hospitality and they hope to build a vibrant dance culture in Nakuru by establishing a dance academy to train and mentor aspiring dancers.
