Once celebrated star of the TV show, Mother in Law, John Githui known as Ras suddenly vanished from the digital stage, leaving his devoted audience bewildered.

No updates, no posts, just a void that has echoed his absence. Concerned fans have been seen flooding social media, creating hash tags #WhereDidRasGo?

As the online community continues to clamour for answers, Ras finally breaks the silence.

He says “I am currently working on a partnership with a friend who initially started G- live studios and as days go by I will be part of the people launching Pearl Jumbo Kids in which there is a bit of delay.”

‘Ras’ who is currently In Naivasha living in his built home assures his fans he is indeed okay, and that he is appreciative of the concern.

‘Ras’ discloses “I attributed my decline to my role in the popular show 'Mother in Law’, as my income was halved over time, and unwilling to remain stagnant financially, I made a difficult decision to step away from the show.”

Ras, the firstborn of two, rose to fame at 22 , in the year 1998, and became a mother in law actor in 2008.

“Most people thought I was earning a lot of money and would borrow from me. It came to a point it was difficult for me to deal with the public. I just had to vanish,” he states.

Ras expressed that his monthly pay with time was so bad that he would earn more money from selling “Mother in Law CD’s” compared to his monthly pay in acting at the show.

Ras says “ I sometimes could sell up to Sh 20,000 a day on a good day if I chose a good selling location, before the flash disks came in and people were duplicating the CD’s and selling at a cheaper price than I did.”

Ras who was not only in Mother in law shows but in the National Theatre, featured in two Tv dramas in local TV stations.
