Weekend guide: Oldies and soul makes a comeback this weekend!

Nakuru is moving at a slower pace this week, but that doesn’t mean the city is completely quiet. There are a few major events lined up to keep residents entertained, including thrilling games of pool and soulful music nights.

From Friday to Sunday, pool enthusiasts can gather at Space Next Door for the highly anticipated Space Pool Fiesta Season Two. Now in its second year, the tournament has attracted top players from across the country, with an impressive prize fund of Sh2 million up for grabs. 

Sponsored by Governor Susan Kihika and First Gentleman Sam Mburu, the competition will feature fierce showdowns in the men's, women's and team categories, with cash prizes for competitors placing from first to 32nd.

Friday night also brings a touch of class to the city. Hotel Waterbuck will be hosting a jazz night with Noah Saha from 7pm until late. Guests can enjoy live jazz and a happy hour from 6pm to 11pm.

For those who prefer a nostalgic vibe, Nakuru Golf Club is offering something special on Saturday: the long-awaited 'Oldies and Soul, Lovers and Friends' edition. This event will celebrate timeless soul and old-school music, bringing together people who appreciate good music, style and friendship. 

Expect to dance to great music and create memories with some of the best DJs around: Deejay Rane, DJ Ewan, DJ Zeal, and DJ Touch, with hosting duties taken care of by Dr Ofweneke himself. The event's dress code is fedoras and florals, and since Nakuru nights can get chilly, guests are advised to dress warmly. 

No Nakuru weekend would be complete without club life, so the city’s top venues will be joining in the fun with DJs and MCs. Platinum 7D, Space Next Door and Wave XO are all set to keep the party spirit alive and promise the full weekend package for those who want to dance until morning.
